One of the biggest challenges in addressing your mental health is making that first call, and through my own journey with therapy I understand the frustration of being turned away by practices who aren’t accepting new clients or being put on a waitlist that is 6+ months long only to work with someone who isn’t a good match, making that fear of the first call a self-fulfilling prophecy. That struggle is what motivated me to pursue a career in therapy.
Together, my clients and I explore challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationships, family issues, and religious trauma. I have specialized training in veterinary social work and working with combat veterans, as well as training in animal-assisted interventions, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed therapy, and crisis intervention.
I hope to work with clients who are engaged in their well-being and motivated to begin healing, who are open to change and who are prepared for the difficult journey we are about to begin. Therapy can require vulnerability and difficult emotional work; but, by trusting one another through the process, unimaginable healing can begin.
