In my practice I seek to address the whole person. This can include looking at emotional, physical, cognitive, social/relationship, and spiritual manifestations of one’s struggles. My work involves exploring people’s strengths as well as ambivalence about change, and applying multiple strategies to achieve a client’s goals. These may involve: cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, inner child work, gestalt techniques, mindfulness, and body-based therapies.
I work with people from adolescence to mature adulthood seeking to facilitate growth and change. I see clients with a variety of common mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. Some of my specialty areas include: trauma, eating disorders, reproductive issues/negative birth experiences, chronic illness, spirituality, and people coping with transitions.
I am a Registered Yoga Teacher and I am certified as a LifeForce Yoga Practitioner Level I. As such I often incorporate body-based methods into the therapy hour – breathing, meditation, and movement — to bring about lasting change. I am available for individual yoga sessions to address depression, anxiety and trauma, and offer small classes to address these issues. Check the yoga page for class times or contact me directly for individual sessions.
